Pasadena Child Development Associates, Inc. welcomes volunteers! Student and parent volunteers are a valuable asset in supporting our mission of providing services to children with special needs.
We need your help with:If you enjoy keeping things organized, then we need your help! All our departments need help with tasks such as updating databases, filing, shredding documents, and maintaining resource areas. Those who consider themselves talented in the area of office administration will have lots to keep them busy.
Every summer we offer day programs for children in areas as diverse as theater, music and cooking. Volunteers are needed to support staff members in ensuring a smooth and fun time for everyone. Check out this summer’s programs here.
Do you like using your hands? Does the thought of sitting behind a computer make you shudder? Whether cleaning toys, painting walls, or repotting plants, we need active people who like crafty work to be part of PCDA. Whatever your talent may be, we have an area of our organization that could use it.
If you want to be part of the PCDA team and your schedule is flexible, but you cannot make a long-term volunteer commitment, consider being on-call support for the many events, socials and projects that require volunteer support. These range from bulk mailings to childcare to ice cream socials to our annual golf tournament. Some of these events provide volunteers with the opportunity to have hands-on support with clients. There is usually at least one event each month. You will be given 3-day notice of need, and are only required to support PCDA staff for the duration of a project, and will be guided by staff members.
If you are a parent of a child receiving services at PCDA, please consider participating in our Parent Leadership Circle. We are seeking parents who are interested in supporting PCDA in fundraising, social events and community outreach. If you are interested in learning more please contact Diane Cullinane, M.D., Executive Director.
In addition, there may be opportunities for dedicated volunteers to observe clinical sessions and/or assist with groups.
If you are interested in giving some of your time or talent, please contact Buff Megaw
We would like to publish inspiring stories about families and children served by PCDA. These stories may be shared in a booklet, our annual report, and in other publicity.
