Robert "Micky" Mack, BMT, MT-BC

Micky Mack is a graduate of Georgia College & State University with a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy. Additionally, due to a strong desire to extend his skills to other cultures/communities, he also obtained advanced minors in Spanish and Latin American & Caribbean Studies during his undergraduate studies. Upon conclusion of his coursework, he completed his clinical training through the Helping Hands Center for Special Needs in Ohio, an education and therapy center for children with developmental disabilities, primarily autism spectrum disorders. There, Micky formed a love for the collaborative approach between therapies and began to gain a better sense of his own therapeutic style, one grounded in sensory integration and communication.

While completing his bachelors, he spent a year abroad in Argentina, learning about the foundations and philosophies behind the development and growth of music therapy in Latin America. Additionally, he attended two summers abroad in Chile and Germany, focusing on the use of music as therapy in these cultures. From these experiences, Micky has presented on the global approaches of music as therapy for the American Music Therapy Association and various other platforms.

In the summer of 2011, Micky completed the training required to become a registered Music Together® teacher and is looking forward to offering this program at PCDA under a clinical perspective in child development. Micky highly enjoys working with children of all ages and considers himself to have maintained some of their magical qualities throughout his years. As a member of PCDA's interdisciplinary team, Micky looks forward to growing and learning from all who he may encounters.
