Patricia Novak, MPH, RD, CLE

Patricia NovakPatty is the lead dietitian at PCDA and has over 20 years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities and chronic illness. At PCDA, she is part of the interdisciplinary feeding team, co-director of the F3 weight control program and provides nutrition assessment and consultation. Patty received her bachelor's degree in Home Economics (yes, home ec!) from Humboldt State University and her Masters in Public Health in Nutrition at UCLA. Patty completed her dietetic internship at the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and a fellowship at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. Her work experience includes outpatient clinics at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, CHLA, school based California Children's Services (CCS) clinics, developing nutrition education curricula for schools and hospital based high risk infant clinics. Patty is a certified lactation educator and has worked at both the NICU and mother-baby units. She has also been involved in parent and professional training at the national, regional and local levels. Patty has a specific interest in working with families and children who are following gluten free or other allergen-free diets.
