Melissa Sommers MT-BC is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She received her clinical training through the Central Wisconsin Center for Developmentally Disabled, serving special needs children, adults and geriatrics. It was in this setting that she gained a true appreciation for the multi-disciplinary approach.
From early childhood, Melissa has had a passion for working with children using music. For many years she has been very involved with various community organizations, teaching classes and participating in choirs through the VSA Arts of Wisconsin program. Upon moving to Los Angeles she worked in a clinical setting focusing on children with development delays in the Los Angeles area. In addition to facilitating Music Therapy sessions, her role also included facilitating Floortime Therapy sessions, Social Skills Therapy sessions as well as teaching adapted piano lessons to children of all ages.
Melissa is very enthusiastic and dedicated to work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team at PCDA to provide the best services and experiences for all families and children.
