Psychology and Counseling Department Head

Daryl Synowiec developed affection for working with children at a young, which grew into a desire to use this passion with children and families.  She accepted a scholarship to the University of Miami, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy with a Minor in Psychology.  In Los Angeles, Daryl worked for years with families, infants, toddlers and teenagers and with children with Autism in both school and in-home settings.

To expand her knowledge of both child development and the family system, Daryl completed a Masters of Arts degree, concentrated in Clinical Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy at Antioch University.  While completing her internship, Daryl provided school-based services to elementary aged children, as well counseling to couples, teenagers and adults.

Daryl is a full-time Marriage and Family Therapy Intern, who is license eligible, at Pasadena Child Development Associates, Inc. (PCDA). While at PCDA, Daryl has been involved with a range of programs including: Psychology and Counseling, Feeding Therapy, Social Skills, Social Emotional Development, Building Blocks and Music Therapy.  At PCDA, Daryl is committed to supporting children and families with various needs, using family therapy and creative modalities as a way of relating and building relationships.
