PCDA's Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic (TBIC) serves children between birth and 18 years of age, that have had some type of injury to the central nervous system. This might include a head injury resulting from: a fall, car accident, near drowning, concussion, stroke, chemotherapy, sports injury, neurological surgery or other medical trauma.
Prior to your first visit, our multidisciplinary TBIC team will review your child's records and intake paperwork. Our highly-specialized treatment team is comprised of:
Based on the needs expressed in the submitted intake paperwork, an assessment team will be designated that will best assess those needs. This assessment will provide the clinical recommendations by the team for which services to receive. It will include clinical conclusions and impressions of the child, priorities for treatment and the plan for treatment. Additional assessments and/or therapy services may be recommended.
Traumatic brain injuries are very unique and require specialized care and treatment. Supporting your child's individual needs is the primary focus of PCDA' s Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic.
*Some services may be eligible for funding through private insurance. Please contact Melissa for more information.
