2013 Summer Programs
Soap Box Project
Ages 10-17 • Monday July 30th - Friday August 10th • 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon • $300 per week
Children ages 10-17 enter the world of imagination and creative expression through the PCDA Soap Box Project. Based on the idea of a “soap box” which is a platform to support an individual's unique expression of their opinion, individuality, uniqueness, PCDA's Summer Soap Box project will focus on strengthening a child's ability to express themselves. Activities will revolve around the creative arts to increase a child's awareness of different forms of self expression. This will increase a child's self esteem, self image and their confidence in being who they are.
This two week program will explore a different modality each day through introduction, explanation and hands-on exploration. At the conclusion of the two week program, each child will have established which modality expresses them best, and will utilize this modality to express themselves. These individual forms of expression will be compiled into a collaborative final project that each child will be able to bring home to share with family and friends.
