Welcome to the PCDA DIR®/FloortimeTM Parent Support Group. This is for YOU- the parents of children with special needs. This Parent Support Group is for parents to support each other in using DIR®/FloortimeTM strategies at home. The group meets once a month, and focuses on ways to enhance and broaden your knowledge of the DIR®/FloortimeTM approach and ways you can use it to support your child's growth. The group will involve parent discussion and a range of speakers who will focus on topics of the D (Development), the I (Individual Difference) and the R (Relationships).
We hope the Parent Support Group is a place where you will feel safe to share your ideas and feelings because everyone here understands what it means to be a parent of a child with special challenges- and all that it brings. The parent support group is meant to be a respectful, tolerant, informative, and supportive group where you can find others who care about how you are doing, offer encouragement and care, and support your efforts in utilizing the DIR®/FloortimeTM approach in your interactions with your child at home and in the community. Please join us!
Translation to Spanish will be provided. Child care is also available but must be requested by calling (626) 793-7350.
