Chado Tea

PCDA's Creative Arts department is thrilled to announce a new program, Music Together®
FREE DEMO CLASS!
September 7th at 10am or 1pm

Music Together is:
- A music & movement program is for all children ages birth to 5.
- 45 minutes of PURE FUN with your child each week for 10 weeks!
- A community of families sharing songs, instrument play, rhythm chants and movement activities in a relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented setting.
- Music learned through developmentally appropriate activities that support and respect the unique learning styles of very young children.
- Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers participating at their own levels in family-style classes of mixed ages. Class size ranges from 6 to 12 students.
- Parents and caregivers contributing to the enrichment of their child's music environment-regardless of their own musical abilities
- A new song collection every semester for three years, featuring great arrangements of original and traditional songs in a wide variety of tonalities, meters and cultural styles.

| Physical Therapy
PCDA now offers Physical Therapy Services!! We are now vendored by Lanterman Regional Center through the State of California regional center system.
Physical therapy will focus on assessment and treatment of fundamental skills to support development within the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and cardiovasculary systems, including: Strength, Balance, Coordination, Motor planning, Postural control, Postural alignment, Range of motion, Endurance.
We provide evaluation and treatment of children with varying diagnoses, such as developmental delay, torticollis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, down Syndrome, prematurity, genetic disorders, and neurological conditions.
Our Doctoral degree physical therapists have advanced training in neurodevelopmental treatment, sensory integration, kinesiotaping, bracing and orthotics.

DIR®/Floortime: A State-of-the-Art Approach for People with Special Needs
October 15th 9am-4:30pm
DIR - Developmental, Individual difference, Relationship based -- is the original parent-mediated intervention for young children with special needs. This conference will examine the success of the DIR®/Floortime approach to intervention. A variety of renowned speakers will describe their experiences with DIR®/Floortime in diverse settings, including the home, clinic and educational setting, as well as the results of clinical research. There will be an opportunity to explore the many DIR®/Floortime services available in California. This conference will be of interest to parents, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, dietitians, mental health professionals, registered nurses, educators, early interventionists, and any professionals involved in the care of children with special needs. This conference is sponsored by the DIR®/Floortime Coalition of California, the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders, and Pasadena Child Development Associates. Tuning Into Music - For the child with special needs
Music Therapy from within the DIR®/Floortime model
October 22nd 8:30am-3:00 pm
This introductory level course is designed for parents and professionals working with children with a range of developmental concerns. We will explore the history of music therapy, the basics of the DIR®/Floortime™ model, musical activities and strategies to use with children. Speakers will review amazing current research regarding evidence based outcomes with music therapy across all disciplines. Lecture, audience participation and video case examples will be used to illustrate practical approaches to sometimes challenging daily routines. This workshop will be fun, fast moving and you will leave with some new ideas and practical solutions to be able to implement in your everyday interactions at the clinic, school, and/or home.
