 Please join us at our next DIR/Floortime Parent Support Group.  This group provides a forum to discuss ways to use DIR/Floortime with your child, and will have guest speakers who will provide practical tools and tips.  DIR/Floortime is an approach that supports child development for all children.

Feeding Parent Support Group

Is your child receiving feeding therapy? Then consider joining our Feeding Parent Support Group. The group is led by a member of PCDA's Interdisciplinary Feeding Team.

 

This is a chance for parents to come together to share their experiences and support one another as they work through their child's feeding challenges. FREE for parents in PCDA's Interdisciplinary Feeding Clinic.

DIRŪ/Floortime: A State-of-the-Art Approach for People with Special Needs 

    

DIR - Developmental, Individual difference, Relationship based -- is the original parent-mediated intervention for young children with special needs. This conference will examine the success of the DIRŪ/Floortime approach to intervention. A variety of renowned speakers will describe their experiences with DIRŪ/Floortime in diverse settings, including the home, clinic and educational setting, as well as the results of clinical research. There will be an opportunity to explore the many DIRŪ/Floortime services available in California. This conference will be of interest to parents, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, dietitians, mental health professionals, registered nurses, educators, early interventionists, and any professionals involved in the care of children with special needs. This conference is sponsored by the DIRŪ/Floortime Coalition of California, the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders, and Pasadena Child Development Associates. Tuning Into Music - For the child with special needs

Music Therapy from within the DIRŪ/Floortime model 

 

This introductory level course is designed for parents and professionals working with children with a range of developmental concerns. We will explore the history of music therapy, the basics of the DIRŪ/Floortime™ model, musical activities and strategies to use with children.   Speakers will review amazing current research regarding evidence based outcomes with music therapy across all disciplines. Lecture, audience participation and video case examples will be used to illustrate practical approaches to   sometimes challenging daily routines. This workshop will be fun, fast moving and you will leave with some new ideas and practical solutions to be able to implement in your everyday interactions at the clinic, school, and/or home.

PCDA on the news
 
On October 5th, Berea Vision, a Spanish television station, came to PCDA to film our wonderful center.

On October 6th they broadcast a live 20 min segment on their morning show! 

 

PCDA will continue to make ongoing monthly appearances on their show. Each month we will focus on a specific topic, while educating the public on the different types of therapies we offer.
