This conference will examine the success of the DIR®/Floortime--Developmental, Individual-difference, Relationship--based approach for children with special needs. A variety of renowned speakers will describe their experiences utilizing DIR®/Floortime with children of all ages and their families, in diverse settings, including the home, clinic and school, as well as results of clinical research.
Join hundreds of parents, therapists, clinicians, educators, early interventionists, administrators, and professionals involved in the care of children with special needs and interested in learning more about cutting edge research and practice in the field of autism treatment.

Following this course,
participants will be able to:
- Describe the three components of the DIR®/Floortime approach
- Identify the goals and outcomes of a DIR®/Floortime Program
- Explain how DIR®/Floortime is used for infants, children and young adults of all abilities
- Explain how affect-based (emotional) interactions and relationships are the core of the DIR®/Floortime approach
- Describe how the DIR®/Floortime approach builds capacities for social interaction, language and communication, and higher-level thinking
- Access research which supports the DIR®/Floortime approach

Continuing Education
This course meets the qualifications for 7.0 hours of continuing professional development credit for the following:
Speech and Language Pathologists

Occupational Therapists
approved provider of continuing education by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) #4956.

MFTs/LCSWs
Pasadena Child Development Associates is an approved provider towards licensure requirements by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Music Therapists
A View From the Floor is approved by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) for 7.0 hours of Continuing Music Therapy Education credits. Credits awarded by CBMT are accepted by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). Pasadena Child Development Associates, P-107, maintains responsibility for program quality and adherence to CBMT policies and criteria.
Licensed Psychologists
Pasadena Child Development Associates, Inc is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education activities for psychologists. Pasadena Child Development Associates maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
